Boil water. Stir in rice and get back to a boil at medium-high heat. Reduce heat to a simmer, cover, and cook until tender, absorbing all liquid. The rice shows craters or steam holes when it is ready. Press one or two grains of rice to be sure. Remove from heat and let steam while covered. Then fluff with a fork and serve.
